Impressions

I have visited Romania several times, both as a tourist and also for business affairs. I have travelled extensively in Europe but rarely met so friendly and welcoming people as the Romanian. With its beautiful scenery and the country's different geography, from the mountains in the north, down south to the Black Sea, Romania is definitely worth a visit.

Romania - Great mountains, countryside and wildlife with the best soups in the World. Get out(and stay out) of the capital (if you arrived there) and enjoy the real Romania in the Carpathians,Mountains of the North, the oasis of the Danube Delta or dine and drink polinca in the soul of the country in the far North east - Maramuses, where life has changed little in hundreds of years. Enjoy an Ursus (local beer) or fine local wine in one of the ancient saxon cities of the east Brazov, Cluj, Sibu and the amazing Sighisoara. Romania - Rediscover the past! Narook!

We visited Romania in october 2009. We came to Bucuresti on a Sunday. The city did look very much like  any other Europeean city, but it appeared to us to be  warm, because of the hospitalty of our hosts. Especially the local guide from Enjoy Romania did a very good  impression. He was leading us too delicious  traditional restaurants with high atmosphere and low prices. Also he arranged a visit to “ The Palace”. For us this was a big experience. We had a peculiar feeling of what is good and what is bad. Why use all this money to show greatness, while the romanian population was suffering. On the other hand the question of beeing a member of “the promised land EU” came strongly to us, because this membership seemed to be very much better for EU bussines people than the people of Romanian. We do sincerely hope that     Romania will benefit from  the EU membership in the long run. In midweek we were driving in a bus to Bacau to see the Faroese national football team play against Romania. We have forgotten all about the game, but not the friendship with our new romanian friends and "our " atmosphere on the stadion. We will never either forget the beatyful countryside with its face of the autumn. The green colour and especially the many red and yellow variants were faboulos.

After the game we went to the local airport, to start our journey home to Føroyar. We were happy for the trip, and were thinking much of coming home, but also about when to go back to Romania and its people.

I had a great time in Romania the summer of 2010, visiting Bucharest where i enjoyed the cafes and shops. It was also a great impression on me taking a tour in the House of people and hear some of the history there. The Romanian people are friendly end very helpful. I got to know a girl and here family at their appartment in Bucharest, we took a 2 hour trip to the beautiful and peaceful mountains, there i got to know some of the local food wich i think is very tasty. We visited two castles, the one was the "draculas" Bran castle also famous from the Bram Stocker Dracula.
