Welcome to Romania! Transfer from Bucharest to Tulcea City (195 miles).
After we arrive in Tulcea we do the boarding on the floating hotel, get the keys from the rooms, while we are welcomed by the crew and the Captain who will serve you with a local brandy from Dobrogea region. A briefing instructing time regarding security onboard will follow.
Welcome to Danube Delta!
The lakes, channels and estuaries of the vast Danube Delta are a paradise for birds, fish and plants. Delta is home to the largest colony of white pelicans in Europe, as well as to some protected bird species around the world - Pygmy cormorant, Little egret, Spoonbill, Glossy ibis.
After you have settled all inquiries the ship will leave the touristic port of Tulcea following default route to reach the heart of the Danube Delta, while you enjoy your lunch and admire landscapes of the Sulina Arm for about 4-6 hours.
Once we reach the village of Caraorman, the dinner will be served and you will enjoy dishes from the area. Afterwards you have the option of a quiet, restful time in the nature or an evening with music and various entertainment elements.
After serving the breakfast, we do fishing. It’s time to meet the Romanian pike and carp! Explore some of the main channels and lakes of the Delta while fishing for carp, catfish, zander pike and perch. Hear the call of an egret, spot a group of pelicans lifting gracefully into the air or catch sight of other rare species, such as the pygmy cormorant or the red-breasted goose. For lunch sample the traditional fisherman’s soup. Continue the route heading to Lumina Lake & Puiu Lake where a fishing contest will take place.
After serving the breakfast we will visit the cosy village of Mila 23. We will boarding the hotel for lunch and in the afternoon while the hotel will go smoothly through Lake Fortuna, Baclanestii Mari, Sontea Channel, Lake Nebunu we will stop in several places to enjoy the scenery while our guide will provide explanations. We will spend the night on channel 36 near Tulcea.
We eat breakfast in Tulcea then we embark on minibuses to continue with a visit to the wonderful natural reservation of Macin Mountains where you will have the chance to taste the wine from the wine cellar of Macin.
We continue our day at Saon Monastery and here you can enjoy a monastic lunch served by nuns in Saon Monastery and you’ll be able to purchase locally goods, souvenirs & handicrafts. After this experience we will continue out trip on the boat.
In the evening we dine on the boat and we celebrate this wonderful trip, with music, dance and, of course, delicious food.
After the breakfast, we disembark from the ship and say goodbye to the crew, take bus to Bucharest. Transfer to airport or hotel, applicable.
