Pick-up from the airport and transfer to the hotel. This is the arrival day. During this day the tourists will be waited and transferred from the airport to Bucharest. The rest of the day is free. In the afternoon meet the tour guide and fellow travelers.
Let's discover Bucharest’s Old Town, a mix of history, local culture and life style, a trendy entertainment district and favorite hangout for the locals. with many extraordinary terraces full of people. And a good start, can not be complete without a good supper. Right in the Old Town, next to an old church, called Stavropoleos, there's a an old an famous famous restaurant. Overnight in Bucharest.
We start our day in Bucharest visiting the House of the People – Palace of Parliament, biggest building in Europe and 2nd biggest in the world; from there we walk to Cismigiu Gardens – an old and marvelous park.
Our next stop is Village Museum, a terrific open-air collection of several dozen homesteads, churches, mills and windmills relocated from rural Romania.
We go straight to Sinaia (120 km) where we visit the outstanding Peles Castle and Sinaia Monastery. We head to Busteni where we stop only for a short break to admire a magnificent view over Bucegi Mountains from Cantacuzino Castle Park.
The journey continues with Brasov, a top tourist attraction in Romania. We end the day with a good meal in the Cerbul Carpatin restaurant, an unforgettable evening with Romanian dances and traditional food. Overnight in Brasov.
We start the day in Brasov, one of Europe's best-preserved medieval towns, here we visit the Counsel Square, Republic Avenue, the Black Church, Poiana Brasov. We make a move to Rasnov where we will visit the beautiful mountaintop citadel. Next stop will be the famous Bran Castle – Dracula. Here we will take time for shopping.
We continue to stay in the area, we have the lunch at Craiasa Muntilor – a mountainous area in Moeciu. The ones who will not dine can enjoy a beautiful landscape. After that we head towards the Pestera village, where we will have a panoramic view over the mountain picturesque Piatra Craiului Mountain.
We go to Pitesti via Rucar-Bran corridor. We will make several stops for photos and shopping from local peasant, being captured by the beautiful scenery of the Carpathian Mountains. We will stop to visit the villagers in the area and to learn about their life style. We will learn about: milking cows, how they do cheese and brandy (tuica) and other aspects of their life. Overnight in the city of Pitesti.
Early in the morning we have the first stop on our journey to the most beautiful road in the world, at Curtea de Arges where we will visit an important monument on the map of Romania - Curtea de Arges Monastery. From here we go straight to Poenari Citadel, climbing this route on foot, the journey has a medium difficulty adventure level. We descend to the road and continue our trip to Vidraru Dam.
We continue through the corridor of Transfagarasan and we do frequent stops to admire the beauty of the landscape and to take pictures. We arrive at Lake Balea, we breath the fresh air from this height of 2,034 m and explore the area by foot.
In the 2nd part of the day we continue to Sibiu, considered to be one of the most beautiful Romanian towns, due to its unique architectural style and to the impressive complex of museums, Sibiu was awarded the official title of 2007 European Capital of Culture. Overnight in Sibiu.
We keep it fresh all around the clock. But not before breakfast. That would be stupid. Now that we're all set up, we go to Dumbrava Sibiului, the largest open-air museum in Romania. Standing in shaded parkland are nearly 350 traditional buildings, perfectly reconstructed, illustrating the country's heritage. Stroll among watermills, windmills, wooden churches, workshops they are here waiting for us.
We begin the journey to Bucharest at 8 via Olt Valley corridor and we stop to visit Cozia Monastery located between mountains, in the village of Calimanesti. We go to Bucharest right after that, transfer to the airport.
Unfortunately this trip will come to an end eventually. We just hope that at this point you will be sad to leave this beautiful country.
