Best ski resort in Maramures

Developing nowdays in the area, Cavnic is a rural resort, that plans to enhance the natural beauty of the area. It is located in the Gutii Mountains (Maramures County), at half distance between Baia Mare and Sighetu Marmatiei.

Here you can find a very well treated ski track, with utilities for snow tucking and night lighting system. Although not high in altitude, the shaded mountainsides make the skiing possible even at higher temperatures.

In 2002, by arranging Icoana and Roata ski slopes, Cavnic became the centre of attraction in Maramures and one of the top destinations for skiing in Romania. The total length of ski slopes in this resort reaches 8.5 km.
