A citadel good to be framed
The only medieval citadel in Romania which has kept intact its moat filled with water is one of the most picturesque fortifications in Romania. The walls are beautifully reflected in the water reminding the castles of the Loire Valley, to the delight of visitors who discover their photographic talents in the water with images. The Museum of Ţara Făgăraşului housed in the fortress was modernized and expanded with one level. The works were recently completed and the museum was opened in its new version in late March.
