The perfect experience of the Danube
The sleepy fishing port of Sulina is Romania's easternmost point (64km east of Tulcea) and the highlight of any journey along the Danube's central arm.
There's a beautiful, tranquil (during the day) beach here as well as a charming canalside promenade. It's also an excellent base for forays deeper into the delta or on to the Black Sea.
The Sulina Arm, shortest of the three, stretches some 42 miles from Tulcea to Sulina. Although it only carries 18% of the total water flow, Sulina is the main navigation route for passenger and commercial traffic.
